I remember a long time ago when I was doing internships for my locum doctor job training I decided to go abroad. My journey took me to Patagonia, and it is one place that I would absolutely recommend to everyone out there to visit at least once.

Patagonia covers most of South America. Since, it is situated in the Southern Hemisphere the climate is the reverse of what we have. The warmest months in that region are December, January, and February. Hence, it is the ideal place to visit when one wishes to escape the cold winter season. Also, Patagonia is remarkable for its diverse and scenic landscape.

The Perito Moreno Glacier is an absolute wonder! It is located at the Los Glacieras National Park in the Santa Cruz province of Argentina. It remains one of the very few glaciers in the world that are not receding. Due to Perito Moreno’s size and accessibility, it is extremely popular with tourists. The splendor of this place is such that the experience will surely remain with you for a long time.

You can visit the lovely city of San Carlos de Bariloche in Rio Negro. It is situated at the foot of the Andes and is surrounded by lakes such as the Moreno and the Mascardi. Cerro Cathedral at Bariloche is one of the largest ski centers in South America. In the summer season, the stunning beaches of Playa Bonita and Villa Tacul beckon the traveller. Another major attraction is the Nahuel Huapi National Park, which is the oldest national park in Argentina and is known for its many lakes and rich wildlife. Another picturesque lakeside resort nearby is the village of Villa La Angostura.

If you are interested in boarding a cruise ship to Antarctica or just visiting the southernmost city in the world, then you must go to Ushuaia. This city is also known as the ‘end of the world’ and is located in the province of Tierra del Fuego. The greatest tourist attraction in this city is the Tierra del Fuego National Park, which is home to many waterfalls, forests, mountains, deep valleys, lakes, rivers, and also an ocean shoreline. Besides the breathtakingly dramatic scenery, this place also has a large number of animal species.
