Argentina is the second largest country that is located in South America. People come from all over the world to live here. This is how it has become known as a nation of immigrants. Argentina culture is a mixture of European and African cultures.

The mixed culture of Argentina is reflected in many phases such as lifestyle, literature, music and architecture. The tango dance is the chief cultural marker of Argentina and was originated over 100 years ago. This dance is romantic and highly recognizized all over the world. If you were to step into the clubs in Argentina, you would find a mix of Argentine and European melodies along with African beats.

Another cultural symbol of the Argentine people is sport. Although soccer is considered sport in Argentina, it is considered more of an obsession rather than a game. Other cultural attractions in Argentina are museums, galleries and theaters. In fact, the cinema has reached international status there nowadays.

You can find numerous international writers in Argentina like Julio Cortazar, Jorge Luis Borges, Manuel Puig and Osvaldo Soriano. The official language in Argentina is Spanish and the most consumed food is beef.

In fact, some people eat beef more than once a day and in large quantities. People like to eat their beef in asado or barbecue style. There are some European favorites, however, such as the criollo (creole) and Porteno entail. Grilled meats, beef ribs and steak are among the foods readily available.

Aside from the food and music, Argentina is a popular destination that people like to escape to from all around the globe. There is much to do and see here and everyone can find something that fits their personality.

My journey took me to Patagonia, and it is one place that I would absolutely recommend to everyone out there to visit at least once.

Patagonia covers most of South America. Since, it is situated in the Southern Hemisphere the climate is the reverse of what we have. The warmest months in that region are December, January, and February. Hence, it is the ideal place to visit when one wishes to escape the cold winter season. Also, Patagonia is remarkable for its diverse and scenic landscape.

The Perito Moreno Glacier is an absolute wonder! It is located at the Los Glacieras National Park in the Santa Cruz province of Argentina. It remains one of the very few glaciers in the world that are not receding. Due to Perito Moreno’s size and accessibility, it is extremely popular with tourists. The splendor of this place is such that the experience will surely remain with you for a long time.

You can visit the lovely city of San Carlos de Bariloche in Rio Negro. It is situated at the foot of the Andes and is surrounded by lakes such as the Moreno and the Mascardi. Cerro Cathedral at Bariloche is one of the largest ski centers in South America. In the summer season, the stunning beaches of Playa Bonita and Villa Tacul beckon the traveller. Another major attraction is the Nahuel Huapi National Park, which is the oldest national park in Argentina and is known for its many lakes and rich wildlife. Another picturesque lakeside resort nearby is the village of Villa La Angostura.

If you are interested in boarding a cruise ship to Antarctica or just visiting the southernmost city in the world, then you must go to Ushuaia. This city is also known as the ‘end of the world’ and is located in the province of Tierra del Fuego. The greatest tourist attraction in this city is the Tierra del Fuego National Park, which is home to many waterfalls, forests, mountains, deep valleys, lakes, rivers, and also an ocean shoreline. Besides the breathtakingly dramatic scenery, this place also has a large number of animal species.

Argentina is a really amazing place to visit and one can learn a lot from its lifestyle and rich culture. There are things to consider when visiting with the timing being one.

Argentina is located mainly in South America with a population of over 40 million. Spanish is the common language in Argentina, however, Italian and 17 other native languages can be heard. Its currency is the peso. If visiting Argentina during the summer time, the southern Andes is the place to go. Northwest Argentina is good during the winter time with less rain and a hot spot is Buenos Aries during the spring and fall.

Argentina is well known for its devotion to religion and there is much freedom there when it comes to it. Some religions you will find there are Jewish, Protestant, Greek, Orthodox, Moslem and Russion Orthodox.

Modern Argentina culture reflects in its lifestyle, literature, music and architecture. The tango dance is very common and was originated over 100 years ago. Although it appears somewhat complex, this dance has gained a great deal of recognition and appreciation worldwide. In fact, it is one of the most popular dances highlighted in movies today. Along with dance, music is enjoyed within this culture. At most clubs, you will find a mixture of local Argentine melodies, European hits and African beats.

The Argentines also enjoy sports and it is actually an important cultural symbol. It will not take you long to find a synthetic sports pitch as soccer is the obsession of most Argentines, however, there are other games played here.

These are just some of the fascinating wonders of Argentina. Its culture has so much to offer for just about anyone with any personality type.

Recently, I had the great opportunity of visiting Tierra del Fuego, which is the southernmost province of Argentina. It is separated from the mainland by the Strait of Magellan. Tierra del Fuego is a land of mountains and sandy beaches, lush forests and waterfalls, ancient glaciers and an immense variety of flora and fauna.

Tierra del Fuego was first occupied by tribes like the Yamana, around ten thousand years ago. They had great respect for the land and lived very close to nature. Their homes were made of branches; they traveled by canoes, and covered themselves with leather. Unfortunately, the arrival of the European and Creole settlers caused their extinction. At present, only a handful of the early tribe members survive.

The best place to visit in Tierra del Fuego is the vast Tierra del Fuego National Park. It was founded in the year 1960 and stretches across sixty kilometers. The landscape here is dramatically beautiful. Deciduous trees like Nire and Lenga are very common and so are evergreens like Coihue. Guindo forests thrive in areas that receive the most amount of rain. The summer season is witness to the growth of colorful blooms everywhere. There is a great variety of animal and bird species to be found in these forests. I went with a friend who is currently working vet nurse jobs, and she said that it was worth recommending simply because of the animals.

Ushuaia is the capital of the Argentina province of Tierra del Fuego. Due to its extreme location, it is also known as the ‘end of the world’. The famous End of the World train leaves from Ushuaia and takes you through the Tierra del Fuego National Forest. It is a breathtaking experience! Ushuaia is also the starting and ending point for most Antarctica expedition cruises.

Cerro Castor, Glaciar Martial, and the Lapataia Bay are among the many places of tourist interest. The beautiful Fagnano Lake is one of the largest lakes in the world. Tierra del Fuego is an amazing tourist destination. It is for everyone who loves adventure and nature and wants to have an exotic and fun experience.

It has charm and energy, class as well as vigor. This fascinating city is synonymous with excellent food, engaging music, exciting nightlife, and beautiful people.

The best way to experience Buenos Aires</place /> is by walking. There are enough interesting sights and sounds to keep the pedestrian pleasantly occupied for hours. It is also a nice way of seeing the friendly and attractive people of the city. When tired, you can always take the subway or board a bus. You can also hire a bike but it is advisable to avoid crowded roads in favor of bike-trails.

The elegant Florida Street or Calle <state w:st="on"/>Florida</place /></state />, with its many outdoor markets, shops, cafes, restaurants, and tea rooms, is an important attraction, which one can enjoy when staying at the beautiful Hotel Looe. Pedestrians interested in cinema can walk to Lavalle, the street of movie theaters. Tango dancers and other performers flock around this area in the evenings and hence ensure that you can enjoy a musical and romantic night in the city.

You must not miss the quaint, funky, and endearing charm of San Telmo, the oldest neighborhood in Buenos Aires</place />. This place is perfect for someone looking to relax and at the same time acquire an insight into the history and culture of Argentina. There are many galleries, book shops, and antique stores. In the evenings, the outdoor shops disappear and many more restaurants crop up. You can also participate in outdoor Milonga or an open tango dance party.

There are parks and plazas, old churches, historical mansions and monuments, colorful localities and swanky boutiques, museums, lakes, and gardens in Buenos Aires</place />; something for everyone. There are literary cafés like Café Tortini, which are patronized by poets, authors, and other celebrities. The beautiful Bosques de Palermo, with its sculptures of Dante, Shakepeare, Lorca, and other poets, is another place worth visiting.

When traveling abroad it is always important to check with your health insurance to determine what’s covered and what’s not. A lot of doctors in Argentina, as well as other countries abroad, want cash payments upfront. Be sure to have a signed doctor’s note for any necessary medications and carry the note with the clearly labeled bottle. If possible, bring your own first aid kit with items such as insect repellant, ibuprofen, anti-itch cream, anti-diarrhea medicines and any other basic over the counter medications that might be needed, most travel agencies can give care fees advice if nessecary.

Now that your health is taken care of, it’s time to talk money. The currency of Argentina is the Argentinian peso. As of this year it boils down to 3 AR$ being equal to $1 American. The best place to exchange currency is at banks. It is also recommended to carry smaller denomination bills because of the high counterfeit rate. This includes both the American dollar and the Argentinian peso. If you are in need of change for a $50 or $100 then head for a bank. Very few stores or restaurants will take these large bills.

The best thing to carry in Argentina is cash and/or an ATM card. Travelers checks are a joke. Only very large companies will accept these. Really cash is the best way to go because ATM machines charge AR$15 for every transaction and you are limited to AR$300 per transaction. You can use credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard. Although you must keep in mind that most businesses in Argentina will charge you a 5-10% surcharge for using a credit card. Also you will not be charged the exchange rate at the time of the purchase. You will be charged according to whatever the rate is when the purchase registers on your account. This can sometimes be weeks later. One last thing, if you do choose to use your credit cards overseas be sure to let your card company know in advance because they may think it’s stolen and put a hold on it.

1. The weather. If you like it hot and tropical, you’ll like Argentina. If you like it cold, you’ll also like it in Argentina. It’s just like any other country when it comes to weather. It varies by region. And each region’s weather permits for all different sorts of activities. But be sure to pack plenty of water, running shoes to wander around in, and some good sunscreen. It also wouldn’t hurt to bring a jacket, because you just never know. Good old Argentina.

2. The people. They tend to be extremely friendly and helpful. Depending on which city you’re in, you’re sure to encounter crowds of people. Don’t be shy, and learn a bit of the native language, and you’ll be just fine. Ask questions, get to know people, and make friends. It’ll make your visit that much better!

3. The music. If you like to tango, you’ve come to the right place. The music scene is one of a kind, and the dancing is even better. Get hot, and don’t be afraid to sweat your little heart out. The women are beautiful, the men are in shape, and if you’re not, after one dance in one of the feistiest countries in the world, you’ll be in shape too! Pack a good pair of dance shoes, and an exotic outfit, and you will be on your way to being Britney Spears new back up dancer. Well, maybe not, but you’ll learn a few good moves to show your friends, and have fun doing it.

4. The crime. Although the crime isn’t the lowest in the world, it’s still pretty darn safe. Most tourists that have visited Argentina did so without being victimized in any type of crime. It’s never safe to assume you’re invincible, so stay alert, but it’s definitely a burden off your shoulders knowing that your family is most likely safe. Learn about the bad areas of the city your in, and you should be just fine!

5. Memories. Regardless of what you do in Argentina, you’re sure to always remember it. Whether you tango until you drop, go sightseeing in the city, or make a few friends, you will have a great time.

Argentina, is the second largest country in South America, and is a land of many different things, some good, and some bad. But obviously you want to hear what makes it a great place to visit, right? For starters, the majority of the people are extremely friendly. The country loves football, there are some great cheap hostels, and you won’t be hard up to find someone who wants to chit chat about anything under the sun.

I’d recommend learning Spanish first though, as it is also the largest Spanish speaking country in the world next to Mexico and Columbia. Another thing that makes Argentina such an awesome place to visit is the weather. Assuming you’ll be visiting the upmost portion of Argentina, expect a tropical climate.

City life is another great reason. If you like beautiful, and big cities, then you’ll love Buenos Aires. This is an enormous city with a population of roughly 3 million people, sitting right on the western shore. There, you will find plenty of things to do to occupy your time. Tango music and dancing is extremely popular there, so if you’ve ever wanted to learn, Buenos Aires would definitely be the place to do it.

You can also check out their classic cinema which is universally popular. And don’t worry, it’s very easy to get around in Argentina. They have a very widespread travel system, which includes buses, trains, ferries, and planes. For all you lovers of buildings out there, you’ll love the modern design and architecture of most of the larger cities. And even the older architecture seems very modern as well. While you’re taking all this in, you may also want to take in some calories, and what better place to do so? If you’re a food fanatic, you’re in luck. Argentina has some of the best foods in the world. Top that off with some of the best wine in the world, and end it with a Dulce de Leche (a caramel dessert) and you’ll find yourself in food heaven. These are just some of the many great things that make Argentina a great place to visit. And it’s cost efficient!

There are quite a good number of popular clubs and bars that are known for their variety of drinks served and the great live music performances. The Buenos Aires Pub Crawl is one such pub where you can have a really nice time, the scent of the entire bar is a mix of tequila and reed diffusers, and I have met some really amazing people there.

Some other very popular pubs at If you don’t like to dance then surely you can visit many restaurants, theatres and also the various cafés to have a wonderful nightlife at Buenos Aires. Palermo Vijeo, Arcos del ferrocarril and Costanera Norte are some of the popular areas in the city that house most of the entertainments spots. Buenes Aires definitely lives up to its name of being a party city.
